Confirm Herd ID Removed After Exit Event

AfiFarm replaces a cow's herd ID with an E number when she is exited. A cow that still shows a plain herd ID in the Exit report was not exited correctly, and she continues to hold a herd ID that no longer belongs to a live animal. Reviewing the Exit report finds these records and frees the herd IDs for reuse.

To open the Exit report:

1. Go to Folder List.

   

2. Open Event Reports.

   

3. Double-click the Exit report.

   

   The report shows all exit events in the selected date range. To change the range, click Design, select the date range required, and click OK.

   

Identify cows that should not be in AfiFarm

In the Exit report, every cow number in the Cow column should begin with an E. A cow number without an E was not exited from the third party before the exit event was entered in AfiFarm. This means she holds a herd ID, even though she no longer exists in the herd.

To remove the cow herd ID:

1. Exit the cow from the third party, and clear the holding pen.

2. In the Exit report, double-click the animal to open her Card ID.

3. Type an E at the beginning of her cow number, and change the E number to one that has not been used before. Any random number can be used. The herd ID is now available again.
